Updated fee structure – special meeting

The Board of Directors is working on needed rate adjustments after many years of having kept water rates and assessments the same. In an effort to keep everyone informed and involved, we would like to present some supporting facts and figures at a special meeting to discuss rates. Your participation and comments are welcome.

The details of this special meeting are as follows:

  • Date: July 20, 2024
  • Time: 8:00-10:00am
  • Address: St Richard’s Church, 28708 Hwy 18, Skyforest

Please note that this July meeting is prior to and separate from our annual members meeting, which is tentatively scheduled for August 10, 2024. We would encourage you to attend both meetings if you are able.

An updated list of our other fees can be found in the Customer Portal, or by clicking here.

Updated water shutoff policy

The Board has also approved a new “Delinquent account shutoff policy” that will be going into effect June 1, 2024 along with other fee adjustments. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with these new fees, as well as the new shutoff policy which can also be found in the Customer Portal, or by clicking here.

Notice to all Skyforest Mutual Water Company Members

Due to the winter storms in early 2023 we were unable to complete certain water tests as scheduled. San Bernadino County requires that we post notice to all members regarding these missed tests. You can find details in the documents below:

Infratructure improvements

We have recently been making improvements to our water system infrastructure.

We found a paved-over valve that was never closed, connected to inactive well #2. Jim and Osman found it, dug it up, closed the valve, put a new riser on it and painted it for identification. This potentially could have been a future drain on our distribution system, had something happened to the line from the old pump house.

Finding the blue cap inside a small pothole.

Closing the valve.

New riser, cap and paint.

This is cleaning up the road after finding the valves, berms created to divert creek flow from highway 18, which was draining directly downhill towards well #2, now it will flow further down the road and away from the well site.

Next we made a communications upgrade from the tank to the pump house. We installed a new transmitter and battery with solar panel charging system.

Lastly we dug out and inspected valve covers on Kuffel & Sycamore.  Older valves will likely need upgrading when Sycamore West project is addressed.
